Drawing lots for residential places only for new students in the 2017/2018 winter semester
Augsburg Student Services draw lots for residential places for the 2017/2018 winter semester for students who are starting their studies at a university in Augsburg for the first time. Participation in the draw is only possible once and restricted from 01/09 until 30/09/2016. Applicants who do not appear in person or applications that are submitted after 30/09/2017 cannot be included in the draw for organisational reasons. However, they will be put on the waiting list.
Prerequisites for participating in the draw are:
- An online admission application with the required proof has been submitted.
- Parents do not live in the Augsburg public transport (AVG) area, or in communities registered in the official map of the city of Augsburg.
- Applicants come in person to the housing administration office to take part in the room draw. In the event of successful participation, it is absolutely essential that the deposit is paid in full directly in cash or using an EC card/girocard and authorisation is given to collect the rent by means of a direct debit.
Every applicant that requests a residence and fulfils the aforementioned prerequisites takes part in the draw by taking a lot number that corresponds to participation in the draw.
Therefore, every applicant that comes in person to the draw will already know whether their lot number has been drawn for a place. On the same day, the "winners" will receive a rental agreement, limited to 6 or 7 semesters – depending on the student residence – in one of Augsburg Student Services' student residences. The prerequisite for this is the immediate payment of the rental deposit in cash to an amount ranging from € 230 to € 410, depending on the residence and room size.
Payment of the monthly rent is only possible via direct debit from a current account. For this, you have to give us your account details on the day of the application. If the rent is to be debited from another account, please have authorisation for the direct debit ready.
The legal procedure is final.
